NEW YEAR greetings2020年01月05日

Dear friends,
We wish to send to you our best wishes for the NEW YEAR from the Fujita family!
At the Upper House election in last July I lost my seat after 12 years. I had been in the Lower House for nearly 6 years before.
In January, I moved from the Democratic Party for the People (DPFP) to the Constitutional Democratic Party (CDP). The Democratic Party had been divided into the DPFP and the CDP in May a year before. I decided this mainly because to try to avoid the infighting between the two brother parties as both parties were planning to put candidates against each other in the same constituency, and also it became clear that the people now support the CDP as an alternative to the regime of Prime Minister Abe.
Unfortunately, the CDP did not endorse me as candidate from the Ibaraki Prefecture where I had been elected two times, but from the nationwide constituency in late May.
In a short period of time, I was not well prepared to win the nationwide constituency.
Then, at the end of last year, the party chose me as an official candidate to run for the Lower House election in a constituency in the same prefecture. The next election will take place within one year and a half.
It will be a difficult conservative stronghold constituency with incumbent former Minister of Finance. But, I feel that I am led to challenge from there in order to save the common people whose poverty rate is increasing rapidly, corruptions by the national leaders are suppressed by the bureaucrats, neutrality by the media and judicially are threatened and leaders in many countries are obsessed by war addicts?
I will appreciate your support and prayers.
I will open a new office there and move to live there, while Leiko and the rest of the family will stay on in Mito.

Leiko and Ai have been supporting me and carrying a lot of burdens for me to whom I am most grateful.
Ai will graduate from a school of nursing in March and start working at a hospital in Mito.

We trust that you will have a prosperous NEW YEAR!
With deep gratitude,
Yuki & Leiko FUJITA
