I lost my seat at the Upper House election

Dear foreign friends, At the Upper House election which took place on July 21, I only got about 30000 votes in a nationwide constituency and lost the seat after 12 years. I had been in the Lower House for nearly 6 years before. In January, I moved from the Democratic Party for the People (DPFP) to the Constitutional Democratic Party (CDP). The Democratic Party was divided into the DPFP and the CDP in May last year. I chose the DPFP mainly because all the Diet and local MPs in my Ibaraki Prefecture belonged to it. I decided to move to the CDP in January mainly because to try to avoid the infighting between the two brother parties as both parties were planning to put candidates against each other in the same constituency, and also it became clear that the People in Ibaraki now support the CDP as an alternative to the regime of Prime Minister Abe. Unfortunately, the CDP did not endorse me as candidate from the Ibaraki Prefecture, but from the nationwide constituency in late May. In a short period of time, I was not well prepared to win the nationwide constituency. I will consult with my family and supporters about my future. Thank you for your support and prayers.
